Introduced two years ago, Thyssen Bausysteme GmbH`s THYSSEN-Solartec® PV system - comprising thin, galvanized and plastic-coated steel sheet with integrated solar cells - allows natural sunlight to be converted into electricity. The solar laminate is made up of three layers of silicon solar cells applied to a thin stainless steel substrate.

THYSSEN-Solartec® ist ein Dach- und Fassadensystem aus beidseitig bandverzinktem und hochwertig kunststoffbeschichtetem Stahlblech mit aufvulkanisierter Solarfolie. Die Folie besteht aus amorphen Siliziumzellen, die in drei Schichten auf einen dünnen Edelstahlträger aufgetragen werden.

Ein 22 Meter langes Sandwich-Dachelement beispielsweise bietet Platz genug für auflaminierte Solartec-Module mit einer Nennleistung von einem Kilowattpeak (kwp). Sind die Elemente per Kran auf der Dachkonstruktion abgelegt, muss man sie nur noch festschrauben und die Längsfugen zwischen den einzelnen Elementen mit Abdeckleisten abdichten.

They are produced under the name isodach mono® by ThyssenKrupp Hoesch Bausysteme GmbH at its plant in Leipzig.
